Biography

My list is growing thanks to the help of a marvelous young lady named Angelia. What would I do without you? Stuff in red is from Angelia, stuff in purple is stuff I've picked up from places I can't remember, stuff in orange is from a Black & White magazine article, dated October 26, 2000, by Tom Wofford, and stuff in yellow is from the Phantom of the Opera program.

    Ted's birthday is December, 21 1961.
And his favorite drink is Coca~Cola (Diet I believe).

Apparently Ted loves photography and goes just about nowhere without his camera.
Ted is left-handed. Quote (Something he said to me in Oklahoma City when I got his autograph): "It [writing] just doesn't work the same for us."
He is also not very good at keeping his website updated.
I was informed by Rebecca Pitcher (Christine) that Ted sucks on a watermelon candy during performances.

Ted was born in Watertown, New York, "near the Canadian border."
He is also the youngest of six kids. He has 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Ted attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY.
Quote: "One of the Phantom's biggest loves is music, and that's one of my biggest loves. I completely understand how much it means to him. I love mysteries and the dark side of things, Anne Rice and vampires and all that. It's a role I really get into."

Ted Keegan is very pleased to rejoin the national tour following a very successful run in the Broadway company. He also recently had the great pleasure of appearing as The Phantom on television, performing live from Rockefeller Center for the Today Show on NBC. He also has the distinction of being the actor who has sung the role in front of the largest audience ever, when he made a spectacular flying entrance from the dome of Madison Square Garden singing "Music of the Night" during the half-time show of the NBA All-Star Game. This past year, Ted was deeply involved  in the George Gershwin Centennial Celebration. He performed unpublished Gershwin at the opening of the George and Ira Gershwin Room at the National Archives in Washing DC, which The New York Times reviewed as one of the 10 best musical events of the year. Ted has also sung Gershwin with Audra McDonald in New York and with Marin Mazzie at the opening of the Santa Fe Chamber of Music Festival. He also appeared in the Frank Loesser Celebration at Symphony Space in New York City and was a soloist at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, singing Unheard Bernstein. This past Christmas, he sang with the 90-piece Indiana Symphony Orchestra. Ted made his Broadway debut as Anthony in the highly acclaimed revival of Sweeny Todd, and additional Broadway and national tour credits include Cyrano: The Musical, Mordred in the Robert Goulet Camelot, Freddy in My Fair Lady, Herman in The Most Happy Fella, and Constantine in Hollywood/Ukraine. He also played The Phantom in Kopit/Yeston's Phantom. Ted is very excited about the release of his first solo CD, Ted Keegan Sings. Information may be found on his website www.tedkeegan.com
